Cycling specific sun protection brand Pelotan has announced it be the Official Sun Protection Partner of Drops Cycling for the 2019 season.
Designed specifically for cyclists, Pelotan is a ‘once-a-day’, water and sweat resistant sun protection brand that allows riders to stay in the saddle longer, perfecting those ultra-sharp tanlines from sunrise to sunset. The company’s flagship product is an alcohol-based spray which is clear, quickly absorbed, lightweight and breathable and has been tested as lasting up to 8 hours at SPF 30 – meaning cyclists can focus on a full day in the saddle without risking skin damage.
Fresh from the announcement that Team Sky will use Pelotan sun protection in the 2019 season, Pelotan and Drops Cycling have announced that they will be working together across a busy summer schedule.
Bob Varney of Drops Cycling said ‘We trialled the range of Pelotan products at our February training camp in Tarragona and then at our first stage race of the season in Valencia. The response from our riders was extremely enthusiastic and genuine. We pride ourselves on only working with top quality brands and partners and Pelotan certainly meet this criterion. The girls are all really excited to be working with Pelotan this season as we look to build on this mutually beneficial partnership.”
Tom Austen, Director at Pelotan said “Having supported the quest for a women’s Tour de France in 2018, we have been looking for a women’s professional team to partner with to continue the conversation about equality in cycling. As one of the most well supported women’s cycling teams in the world and with a unique and refreshing attitude to professional cycling, Drops Cycling was an obvious choice. We are excited to provide sun protection strategies for the team as they embark on a packed calendar included numerous WorldTour events where we are working on joint-activation plans to engage with the wider cycling community. As they look to “Colour the Road” this season, we’ll make sure that that colour isn’t lobster red!”
Having launched Pelotan across Europe in 2018 to widespread acclaim and stellar reviews, the UK based company are significantly expanding their retailer network, broadening the product range and working on campaigns at every level of the cycling community – from the professional peloton to weekend club riders.
