TRIATHLON
Exposure to the sun is unavoidable in triathlon; whether it be on training or competition – it is impossible to remain immune to the harmful effects of UV radiation. In fact, numerous studies have found that triathletes considerably exceed international recommended limits for UV exposure. Where sun exposure is a constant factor and every second counts, failing to adequately protect skin from UV radiation has genuine impact on short-term performance as well as the body’s ability to recover effectively between efforts.
Whilst you might have prepared plans for your training, nutrition and transitions, it is just as important to adopt a proper sun care routine in order to avoid skin damage and maintain peak performance.
Pelotan is a high-performance sun protection designed specifically to improve performance, maximise comfort and allow triathletes around the world to avoid costly sunburn. Pelotan is trusted by Olympic Gold Medallists, IRONMAN World Champions and multiple World, European and National Champions – whether you’re lining up at Kona or tackling your first sprint triathlon, we firmly believe that a sun protection strategy can make a tangible difference and we work tirelessly to ensure athletes focus their energy on where it’s important.
Starting in 2020 we are delighted to be the Official Sun Protection Partner of British Triathlon. The new multi-year partnership will see all athletes from the British Triathlon Performance Programme, as well as members of British Triathlon benefit from Pelotan’s expertise in high-performance sun protection. We will work with British Triathlon to provide education, strategies and a range of products for training and competition throughout 2020 and 2021.
