It’s late July 2019. The race is Le Tour. France is in the midst of another record breaking heatwave. All eyes are on how a giant yellow ball will impact the battle for the famed yellow jersey.

As the peloton winds through the Alps, riders are feeling the effects of the elevated temperatures and relenting sun. Ice packs are being stuffed down jerseys, entire bidons being tipped over heads.

The sun is at its highest point now. The iconic yellow Neutral Service car is acting as a saviour to rider after ride. They’re glossy, tanned arms reaching out to grab precious protection from the searing heat. Bottles of Pelotan are applied vigorously before each rider disappears into the bunch, anticipating the days crescendo.

The Tour is back, a race like no other. In recent years, as the effects of global warming have become even more stark, road-melting temperatures and inexorable exposure to an increasingly brutal sun have become a fearsome adversary for every rider in the peloton. We have been there to provide guidance, protection and reassurance for every switchback, every Queen’s Stage, every lead out.

After supporting Team Sky, in secret and only months after our launch, during the 2018 Tour in which Geraint Thomas secured a memorable maillot jaune – we made things official in 2019 – becoming a public partner of the team as Egan Bernal made history becoming the youngest winner in the modern era.

In the same year, we became the first sun protection brand to be stocked in the iconic Mavic Neutral Service Car – ensuring access to welcome respite on the toughest of days for EVERY rider; whatever team you ride for, nobody deserves to burn on the outside as much as they will on the inside.

Since 2020, we’ve been Official Sun Protection Partner of EF Pro Cycling – a partnership that has protected riders that light up the race like no other and gave birth to a collab range that, for the first time in the history of sunscreen, wanted you to go pink.

This year, we continue the tradition of providing protection at the very highest level, in the race that captures the hearts of the world.
