Why SPF30?
During the development of Pelotan, we found that a sweatproof and breathable SPF30 - offering 97% UVB coverage vs 98% at SPF50 - was preferred by our pro athletes. The difference between SPF30 and SPF50 in elite competition was minimal in practical terms, particularly given the realities of correct sunscreen application and reapplication in race settings.
We learned that a sunscreen that athletes willingly and generously applied was ultimately more effective in practical use than one with marginally superior theoretical protection but inferior comfort. When you’re going all-out, being able to comfortably focus is just as important.
This consideration of the holistic needs of athletes is why we’re confident that Pelotan is the best sports sunscreen in the world.
Will Pelotan stain my kit?
We’re all about the marginal gains, not terminal stains. To ensure Pelotan bonds to your skin, apply it 15 minutes before slipping on your running kit.
Is Pelotan tested on animals or suitable for vegans?
Pelotan is never tested on animals – they’re usually dreadful athletes anyway.
We’re also proud to be a company that doesn’t buy ingredients that have been tested on animals by other manufacturers either. You can buy Pelotan confident that your sun care is cruelty free.
Pelotan does not contain any animal-derived ingredients or by-products and is suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
Is Pelotan suitable for all skin types and those with skin conditions?
Pelotan is dermatalogically tested and designed for use by all skin types, colours and for those with sensitive skin; however, if you have allergies or particular skin issues, please consult the ingredients list and do a small patch test before applying.
