WHY UV LOAD
Sun exposure is a performance variable. Now it has a number.
You measure power. Heart rate. Sleep. You don't measure UV. Sun exposure isn't a health footnote — it's a performance variable. It accelerates fatigue, impairs sweat efficiency, raises core temperature, and disrupts recovery. The UV Index gives you a single point in time, while UV Load™ gives you the cumulative number that actually matters, both per-session, and cumulatively - explaning what that exposure is doing to your performance and recovery.

Sign in, authorise Strava once. The UV Load™ app automatically picks up each new outdoor activity, plus those in the last 5 days to help build your baseline.
We do the maths
For each session we fuse your route and a data stack including the hour-by-hour UV index, cloud cover and elevation into a single UV Load™ score from 0–100. Think of it as a Whoop strain score but for UV exposure.

Yes — Pelotan is a companion layer on top of Strava. After you sign in we ask you to authorise Strava once; from then on activities flow in automatically via webhook. We never ask for your Strava password.

No. UV Load™ is a fitness-style metric designed to help athletes make their own informed decisions about sun exposure. We surface the numbers — your dermatologist still gets to decide what protection you actually need.
