Whilst the weather might not have played ball, this week marks Sun Awareness Week and so, with brighter days right around the corner, it is a great opportunity to brush up on our Sun Protection Advice and Best Practices. As the Official Sun Protection Supplier to British Cycling and the Great Britain Cycling Team, we’ve been working closely to raise awareness of sun damage and skincare at all levels of the sport, from the podium to the park. 

Take a few minutes to listen to why British Cycling Chief Medical Officer Dr Nigel Jones believes it is so important to be sun-aware when out on the bike this summer and why the Great Britain Cycling Team will be using Pelotan in their training and competition in the run-up to Tokyo.

We have developed important advice to help limit unprotected sun exposure in cycling, which is proven to damage skin, cause premature ageing and increase risk of developing skin cancer. In the short term, it can also negatively impact performance and recovery whilst also making you less likely to want to ride your bike! The advice provides key recommendations on how to reduce exposure to harmful ultraviolet radiation whenever you’re in the saddle.
